Braaaiiiiins!Over the course of several full in-service days, we’ve been working with our instructors to embrace an expanded pedagogy. We’ve been dissecting and analyzing various learning models that include Social Constructivism and Kolb’s Experiential Model of Learning.

Through the study of these learning models, it’s become clear that learning is a combination of experience, perception, cognition, sharing and behavior. It’s therefore very important that our teaching model aligns itself with these stages of learning, and so a change in approach is in order.

Through the next few months, each program will be exposed to upgrades at the assignment level – including a new variety of assignment types, an expansion of the tests and assignments already in place, a focus on group discussions and observations, more simulated and practical projects, and the addition of reflective assignments to allow the student to internalize what they’ve learned throughout the course of each lesson.

In addition, we’re also working towards a serious motivational design overhaul that will make our programs more learnable, enjoyable, and interesting for all types of learners.
