Entertainment Consumers Association (ECA)

We got an email from the ECA asking that we send this on:

Attention College Students: GAMERS WANTED!

You want to make your passion a career, but always remember:

You are a game consumer first!

Join the ECA for $14.99 student rate and fight for your rights as a  gamer, receive discounts on games, gaming products, events and much more!

 Join now: http://www.theeca.com/user/register

(.edu needed to validate $14.99 or $19.99 otherwise)

Some digging looks like you can get discounts from Amazon, Newegg, the Penny Arcade Expo, and a few other deals.

The ECA is dedicated to providing a wealth of community and affinity benefits to our members.  With membership, you can connect with like-minded gaming fans, explore career and educational opportunities in the business, and more.  Membership can also provide a wealth of discounts, trial offers and members-only access, much of which rationalizes the cost of member dues many times over. If you are a gamer and spend money on enthusiast magazines, or rent games and do so regularly, these benefits make it so that you would pay far less.  New offers are posted frequently in the Benefits Section,  and accessible once logged-in, so check back often.

Digital Painting Video @ Penny Arcade

The talented Gabe from Penny Arcade sometimes records himself drawing one of the comics. Fascinating to watch, and you could learn a few things too! Keep an eye out for line variation and the way he will re-draw lines until they suit. Gotta love CTRL-Z!

MOO.com | Degree student? It’s show time!

Even though we don’t have end-of-year shows in a physical location, all of you do have portfolios. MOO cards are fabulous and a great way to carry around a bit of your work and make mini-portfolios out of. Lots of examples at the link!
